Gamer Bio:
Before all else, I would like to say that I am proud to call myself a gamer! I've been gaming since the launch of the Atari 2600 and have never looked back once. While there are those who limit their gaming to strictly video games, I am not one of those people. Board games, dice games, card games, pen & paper RPGs, and party games are all included in my gaming activities, but mostly video games (both console and PC). Some call it an obsession and some call it an addiction, but I call it a way of life!
My attention shifted slightly from console video games to computer games when I received a Commodore 64 one year for Christmas. The moment that I figured out that I could acutally *write* games via programming changed my life forever. I am now currently emplolyed at a brokerage firm as a programmer and DBA. The programming skills I learned trying to write games growing up has served me well in my career, and my career has increased my programming knowledge to assist me in writing games. How many other people can say that their job and their hobby feed off of one another? Or that they are even passionate about both of them? I consider myself truely blessed.

Stay connected around here and maybe touch base with everyone with a quick comment when you get settled over in Indiana. Maybe this distance is what you needed to get back active with your friends here on the GoG -

Posted On Jul 17 2009I wanted to stop by and share that we've got an upcoming video game event here in Des Moines NEXT weekend (7/25 & 7/26)!
We could really use your help to help bring the fun to our first church that's hired us to help run a large gaming element. Both Saturday and Sunday evening, the event only runs from 5-9pm, so we'd have plenty of time to enjoy other things during the weekend if you'd like and this large church is allowing us to spread the GoG word too!
We could use some of your gaming equipment if you're cool with that, as we'll be running 8 gaming stations each evening. I have more details and I hope you can make it...so let me know your thoughts asap... -
