  1. Dynafire Great Games You've Probably Never Heard Of: An Introduction

Player Chronicle -- Posted on Mar 18 2009

This is the start of what I hope to be another regular series of articles, much like Dead Pixels. I'm not necessarily trying to emulate Ryan's writing style or anything like that. What I want to do is to introduce the community to some of the better games I've come across that ended up "under the radar", so to speak.

For these articles, I will try to have a video made to accompany them, so these will likely be bi-weekly since I need time to edit the video, as well as figure out how Audacity works so I can add some commentary while I play it. For some game systems without A/V jacks, more time will be needed since I will have to first record to my VCR, then capture it to my computer, then edit the video and audio.

This will also be the first time I have really attempted any major video editing, so bear with me until I get the hang of it. Wink

Another thing about this series is that I'm sure there are tons of good games I've missed myself, so if anyone knows of any good, obscure titles, let me know. I'll buy them and review them as long as they're on a system I own, and not incredibly expensive or rare.

I'm looking forward to trying this out, and hopefully I can stay motivated to keep this going for a long time. I've already got the first article started, so look for it in the next few weeks.

Great idea Dynafire! The problem is that the games I would suggest may seem dated now..but believe me they were extremely awesome back in the day! Of course I've mentioned them before, and i don't plan on shutting up about them yet!

Red Dead Revolver (Xbox)-Third person western shooter (SOOO much better then Call of Juarez trust me!) Oh also it was made by Rock Star. Oh and do not play it on the 360, it has a glitch that freezes your game whenever your fighting a certain boss (happens to everyones).

The Warriors (Xbox)-Again, made by Rock Star, imagine an extremely brutal melee version of GTA, and it's pretty similar, but more linear and a much more enticing story.

Both games got high 8's in OXM (I believe RDR got 8.9) and similar reviews elsewhere.

And quite possibly Monster Rancher 2, although that takes some time to get into and find out about every thing in the game (theres a ton of stuff that would take too long to explain...)

Very cool Dynafire. If you'd like to develop a specific profile for these articles like Ryan did for Dead Pixels, it might be an easier way for us to highlight your writings. I'm excited to see these and I too hope you're able to stay motivated with this idea!

Fantavision for the PS2 is one I'd like you to play Very Happy
