  1. Dynafire Bionic Commando (Rearmed): teaching lessons about anger and frustration since 1988

    First of all, Bionic Commando and its remake are fantastic games. I still play the original game from time to time, and it is one of the funnest games I've had the pleasure of playing. I purchased Bionic Commando Rearmed back when it came out in August and played about halfway through, but had my time occupied by other games. I finally found some time to beat it, and I thought the remake held true to the roots of the original while establishing itself as a new game.

    BUT HOLY HELL IS IT HARD.

    I recently came to find that the achievements for Bionic Commando: Rearmed are worth a ton of points on TrueAchievements.com, and decided to go for them. I had no idea of the hardships that I would face to get them though.

    There is one achievement that you get for completing the game on super hard, and it is worth 5g. You may not think that it's that hard then, if it's only worth 5 points. Well, you would be the victim of a cruel, cruel joke. Super hard difficulty in this game is like torture. The enemies take half your life with a single bullet, and they like to fire many more than they did in the normal difficulty. Also, they throw grenades now. Likewise, the bosses are ridiculously tough. It took me about 2 minutes to beat the area 01 boss on my first playthrough, but took a whopping 15 minutes of trial and error (and luck) to beat it on super hard.

    Another achievement that is giving me a ton of trouble is the one for beating all 56 challenges. They start off pretty simple, but eventually, they get downright insane.     I could rant forever about this game, but ultimately I will conquer this and have the last laugh.
