Gamer Bio:

When I was a kid my parents were really strict about studying and schoolwork, so my access to video games was kind of limited. I would have to go to a friend's house to be able to play Atari, NES, SNES or Sega Genesis. My mom did let me have a
Gameboy, though, and we did have a computer during that time period, first an Apple clone, and then a 286 PC. I distinctly remember playing the DOS version of Star Control 2 on that 286, getting completely hooked, getting stuck, and then triumphantly finishing it with some hints from a walkthrough I serendipitously found at a garage sale. I think this was when gaming became a real passion for me. I loved being immersed in imaginary, fantastic worlds, where I could participate in epic adventures from a hero's perspective. I loved the stories games could tell, and the way they could tell them.

During high school, however, I spent most of my time and energy trying to produce a top-notch college application, and took a little gaming hiatus which would end when I went to college.

Ah, college. Some of my fondest college memories were of gaming - kicking ass (or getting my ass kicked) in Starcraft and Half-Life LAN games with my hallmates, playing Final Fantasy VII on my friend's Playstation with the volume down while he was
studying, finally buying my own video game consoles and television when I moved into an apartment, playing Planescape: Torment on my laptop.

My post-college years went by pretty fast and I have had a lot of experiences, but through it all I have been gaming. Currently I am an unpublished poet and writer. My aspiration is to get a job writing as part of a game development team: game concept, dialogue, narrative, script, plot, etc.
