Yesterday was one of the greatest days of my life, because Cedar Rapids finally got a HuHot. For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, HuHot is a Mongolian grill restaurant.

You get a bowl, put meat, noodles, vegetables, and sauces in it, then they cook it on a 950,000 BTU open grill. It's absolutely delicious. It's a bit pricey though. Last night's meal cost me about $16 including tip, but it was well worth it. If you've never been to a HuHot, find one and go there.

Now I just have to learn to pace myself, because the new HuHot is only about a mile from my house. I also found out that 2 scoops of Samurai Teriyaki, 3 scoops of Khan's Favorite, and 1 scoop of garlic oil is the best combination I've ever tried.

Also, yes, this had nothing to do with video games for once. :P

I meant that Cedar Rapids as a city is f***ed. Last year, we had a massive flood which only exacerbated things. Now, instead of improving necessary things to the city's infrastructure, such as cops, repairing roads, etc, the city council is pretty much only worried about preventing another flood and "recovering" from last year's. They actually approved a plan to build a one BILLION dollar flood wall 7 miles long. Meanwhile, crime continues to increase and our roads have gone to s**t. Not to mention, we just passed a local option sales tax, which the council said would help lower property taxes. Guess what? They raised the property tax anyway. Bunch of idiots/a**holes/jerks/neophytes. That's what I meant by "beyond fixing". I'm getting out of here and moving to either Des Moines or Iowa City as soon as I can, which will probably be next year once I have enough money to buy myself a nice mobile home or put a down payment on a house.

We have a place like that called Mongo's...it sucked cuz I was a total neophyte and had no idea what to do and while it tasted pretty good, it wasn't worth the $16 plus tip...why did I even tip that guy? He didn't do anything, the cooks deserved it. Anyway was this what you meant by "Cedar Rapids is beyond fixing" as mentioned at the GoGcast? That it didn't have a HuHut before? Laughing

HuHot is pretty good all right. Nothing like the authentic Mongolian barbecue we had as kids in Taiwan. (Dad was military).
