  1. Dynafire The weekend in review

Player Chronicle -- Posted on Mar 02 2009

Over the course of the weekend I did some things, and some other things happened, so I figured I might as well write about them.

The first, and probably most important thing I figured out is that I hate my job with a passion. This Friday I will be putting in my 2 weeks notice. Coincidentally, this would make my last day of work happen right before MGC 2009 Very Happy , so I'll have lots of free time to play the games I'll buy there, and maybe make some of those "yell bad words at games" videos I've talked about before. Anyway, I hope to use this time away from work to accomplish some of the other things I've been meaning to do, but haven't had the time to do it.

I've been want to sell my entire Magic: The Gathering card collection for a while now. This is going to be a massive undertaking, as the "good stuff" portion of my collection is at least 3000 cards. Selling playsets of each card (4 of them), that's at least 750 auctions 0_o if I elect to go the eBay route. However, I'd like to give you GoG members first dibs if interested. I'm working on compiling a spreadsheet with prices and conditions of the entire collection (probably won't be done for a LONG time), so if interested, send me a PM and I'll notify you once it's completed. I've got tons of good/rare stuff like revised dual lands, foil fetchlands, a Grim Tutor, 4x Force of Will, 4x foil Wrath of God (not the promo kind), etc. However, I am willing to sell the collection as a whole for $3500. (It's definitely worth at least $4500, so that's a pretty good deal, I think.). I also have some Yu-Gi-Oh cards from...I don't know where, if anyone is interested in those.

My new guitar is defective apparently. I was playing online with Link yesterday, and the thing started double strumming. Then it started to not respond to downstrums, or have a weird delayed reaction to it. Now it hardly works at all. I failed American Woman 4 times before I finally decided the guitar was junk and I needed to return it. Grrr. Sad

I sat down and played Rock Revolution's drum career all the way through on Sunday, and I have to say, it's really fun. It takes some time getting used to the bass pedal though. Instead of a line across the whole note highway, or fretboard, or whatever, it shows up as like a regular note. After playing with it for about 6 hours, I actually prefer it this way. I'm also getting much better at finding the beat, and was able to handle some fairly tricky parts, even while talking with people on XBL while drumming.

Another one of the highlights of this weekend was that I managed to find a copy of Parasite Eve for the PS1. It was priced decently at Video Games Etc. (which is usually pretty pricy with the older stuff) so I got it. I never got to finish it the one time I had it, so now I can finally complete it at my leisure. It'll be nice playing it fresh though. It's been so long since I've played it, it's practically a new game.

    Well, that's about it. Smile
