  1. Dynafire I FINALLY got my RB drums to work properly

Player Chronicle -- Posted on Nov 15 2008

I'm not a huge fan of drumming in rhythm games, mostly because I am not nearly as good at it as I am at guitar. However, I have been able to get pretty decent on the hard difficulty. The only problem with my drums is that they are total garbage.

You may recall a couple of months ago when I broke my bass pedal and had to fix it with sports cards and duct tape. (see pic for it in its full glory) That wasn't the only problem my drums had though. This set would drop notes constantly. It was very, very picky about what it would register. I decided not to RMA the thing to EA, because I didn't play them that much. Now that the time for RMA has passed, and I'm interested in getting better, I was forced to fix them myself.

If you wish to mod your drums, this thread has a ton of great links. http://rockband.scorehero.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3030&start=0

What I used was the penny mod, to increase sensitivity. It involves taking the drum pads apart and putting a penny in the sensor cage. It sounds weird, I know, but I was delighted to find that my drums now work perfectly. I still have the occasional questionable miss, but I can live with that. At least now I can hold a 4x multiplier for more than 10 seconds.
