  1. Dynafire Last weekend: The good, the bad, and the awesome

Player Chronicle -- Posted on Oct 21 2008

I should have written this yesterday, but I couldn't really find the time to do it.

Anyway, I'll start off with some awesome. ZMaine came over Friday night, and stayed until Saturday afternoon. During that time, we mostly played Guitar Hero III, and I got in some sightreads of the Death Magnetic DLC for this weekend's tournament at CyberOps. I thought I was going to be sightreading everything at the tournament, but I guess not. Still, I've only played each song once, and haven't played one of the Suicide and Redemption versions. We also played Castle Crashers for a bit, and since we were on the same console, we didn't have to worry about disconnecting. Smile The bad part of this was that I broke my futon in an attempt to fold it out for Zach to sleep on. I don't know what the hell I did, but I managed to mangle the thing pretty good. Fortunately, I had a roll of duct tape, and half a roll later it was at least useable.

As an extra bit of awesome, I purchased Super Nintendo #3 on Sunday from an ad on Craigslist. The price was a measly $25, and it was well worth it. In addition to the system and cables, I received 2 first-party SNES controllers, Super Mario World (3rd copy), Super Mario All-Stars, Street Fighter II (2nd copy), and a few other games of lesser importance. One of these was Vegas Stakes, and there is a character in it that I SWEAR is Rick Astley. When I first saw this guy, I though to myself, "Hey, that kind of looks like Rick Astley." It turns out that this guy's name is Richard. Coincidence? I don't know - I'll get a screen shot of him later and let you guys be the judge.
