EPIC THREAD: FIRST VIDEO GAME REDUX
Player Chronicle -- Posted on Nov 16 2008
This is a chronicle I started a long time ago, before GoG had much of a population. I'm reposting as a new chronicle in hopes people will share their first gaming stories!
So, I was looking back at some retro games from the 80's and I started thinking about the first time I ever played a video game.
It was a table-style version of Pacman where you could sit down and had to look through the glass-top of the table to view the game. I remember truly feeling a sense of awe as I realized I could control the action. Keep in mind, I was about 5 years old.
Anyways, that led me to the idea for an epic chronicle about...
"Your First Video Game"
And.... BEGIN!

Posted On Nov 17 2008Mine has to be PC-related. Asteroids and text-based adventure games come to mind as the very first experiences with video games
The NES was what made me crazy though...gaming became my life once that system started having all the classic games we now call retro today -

Posted On Nov 17 2008The first game I played was Super Mario Bros. on the NES. I wasn't entirely sure if that was my first game, so I called my parents to see if they remembered. They thought it was a weird question, but said yes, Mario was my first game.
I also remember those tabletop games - they were great. -

Posted On Nov 16 2008I can't really remember the first time exactly, but I have memories of playing lots of stuff on atari 2600 and the 7800(?), then the NES came along....
I missed out on a lot in between SEGA and PS1, that was roughly my teen years... there were "more interesting" things to do.
Then FFVII happened .....
