Player Chronicle -- Posted on May 29 2008

One thing I always notice, and I'm sure a lot of other people do to, is that most of the really good players on H3 are complete JERKS!

Last night I was having a lot of fun in the custom games that were hosted, but a one point most of the players in the party left to join another party. I was left with about four other really good players in the party. They ended up starting an FFA. I decided to stay and play, but I found that it really wasn't all that fun. Not becauseI couldn't do anything, but because, like I said, at least half of them were complete JERKS! All they do when they die is whine a whole ton, and then make up an excuse for dieing or the just say that it was cheap. Furthermore, when I was killed, no matter if I had the advantage or was one shot from dieing, they would always say something along the lines of,"You just got rizzaped".

I really want to play with good players because it makes you better, but if the atmosphere is not fun than whats the point.

Yeah, I hear you on this and it's a weird balance. Obviously, if you take the game really seriously, there will be an element of competition that can make a player pretty uptight. On the other hand, all competition has its good and bad sports.

I think the anonymity that XBL gives people, is the main reason that you see a higher trend of jerks. I think you should make players get the camera, so you can see each other more often, haha. If people played like they do at live events, the online world would be a MUCH better place!

I know this crap won't slow you down from playing and let's hope you just landed with few poor sports. I'll look for you when I'm online and nice work on this Chronicle...especially with the whole "not liking to type" thing, Laughing

My thought of a good player is someone who does well, of course, but when they die or make a mistake they learn from it. Eventually it will catch up to them and they won't get a chance to say "You just got rizzaped"
