Emotional Week

With literally 2 weeks before the "Level Up Pre-Party" that marks the beginning of TIPGC weekend, this week has been somewhat of an emotional rollercoaster.
Along with the challenges of actually organizing such an event, the GoG Forum has experienced a unique discussion. Much of it is geared towards sharing insight and trying to help the event do well, but the flavor of some of the postings started to come across very negative.
As this video game community and the folks behind the scenes continue to pour so much effort into offering a neat experience for gamers everywhere, it's hard to remain excited and committed to working so hard when the response starts to be so demoralizing, close-minded, and negative.
Luckily after a few pages of banter, it seems like the mood of the conversation surrounding the event has gotten to be more positive. The criticisms have been met with action and answers, and it seems a wider understanding towards the challenge of hosting such an event are being more understood. In addition to this single tournament event, it also seems people are more receptive to what this type of video game community takes to run.
Overall this week has been very hard. These negative-flavored forum conversations met with a major sponsor backing out at the last minute, has been uber stressful. Luckily, today we locked up another great sponsor to fill that void and actually plan to add more straight cash into the prize package!
Let's work TOGETHER everyone. This event is for us and a chance to bring a great event to the state of Iowa. Continue spreading the word and get those teams of yours registered! The Early Registration Deadline is only 8 days away and after that, registration fees increase, so don't let that happen

Thats so weird. imma have to go check that out. I always look forward to these events and im not even the one going. But i'd love to attend someday.
