  1. A-Thon X Are you going to get a PSPgo?

Player Chronicle -- Posted on Sep 19 2009

At first i had no intention of getting the new PSP (i still might not, depending on stuff) but the more i weigh the pros and cons, im not so sure anymore. I mean it looks great, i think it has an anti-glare screen, it has a 16gb flash drive built in, aaand i think that just about does it for the pros.

On the other hand it only does DLs, which i'm still getting used to, its way small for my big hands. The previous version was small enough, sometimes i'd have to quit playing for a minute to stretch my fingers out, and the pspgo is the size of an iphone?! I mean look at the button placement, i'll be surprised if it doesnt fall out of my hands when i try to play it. the analog stick is almost in the center which means my thunbs will probrably touch when im playing.Sad

Last con? The price. I can't really afford to pay 250 for something i already have, even if it is a slight improvement. I think the price needs to be a little more competitive with the DSi, which costs $165.

I'm still not sure. I mean, i can sit here and tell myself all day long that i'm not gonna get the new psp, but when tax return time rolls around and i got that money in my hand, will i still be so resolute? Probrably not. :-/

I generally haven't played PS2 for a century! Shocked I'm pretty much a strict PC gamer..And based on those principles I don't think I'll even be considering the PSPgo.

If you ask me personally...the PSPgo is a really big let down. This is coming from the folks who gave endless fun with the PS, PS2 and now the PS3? I think Sony could have down a lot better.

To my knowledge, Sony is going to set something up that allows you to acquire the games you own on UMD as digital copies. I haven't heard any more about it lately, so I don't know where that stands.

Back on topic, I'll only get one when/if my current PSP breaks, not enough benefits for me to jump ship so quickly.

I have quite a few games for my PSP, so I'd say I would only pick up this PSPgo if I was to sell my entire collection. I don't think these new versions of the PSP accepts the UMDs, do they?
