Player Chronicle -- Posted on Nov 13 2007

Call of Duty 4 has set a new bar for which all war games need to try and match. This game pushes the limit on making you feel like you really are on the battle field. And after playing this, I do not plan to enlist any time soon. Probably the best thing about Call of Duty 4 is the effect that you receive from being one shot away from game over, all the while hearing gunshots and the sound of your own heart beat. It is kind of difficult to put this game down.

You play one of two characters, one you are a British SAS member known as ‘Soap’, the other one is a member of the US Marine Corps named ‘Jackson’. You end up occupying many of the different field position such as, helicopter machine gunner, long range high caliber sniper, as well as being able to perform your own devastating coordinated aerial strikes. (Nothing better than leveling an entire building with a single shell)

Your enemies in this call of duty are either Arab of Russian. The AI is smarter/craftier than previous. These will stun you then bum rush ya. They work as a team in some case and always out number you.

The missions in Russia reflect well on the story, a country ravaged by two warring groups, the same is true for the Middle East missions. For the Missions in the Middle East nothing could be more realistic, the bullets flying by, vehicles blowing up while a single car wheel rolls down the street, and RPGs flying every where.

I have only played a few Xbox Live games but they are pretty fun, especially if you can communicate well with your team, if not you are dead in the water.

If you like first person shooter or are just looking for a good game pick your self up a copy of Call of Duty 4.

Nice work. I like that you kept it to the point and also left some room for a follow up review. I'd like to hear more as you work through the game and by the sounds of it, you won't be quitting until the last battle is won Very Happy

I'd also like to hear more about the online play. Is it one shot = death?

I gave you a 10, posted it to my Facebook account, and Dugg the story!
