    Along with the many other events and speakers at the Midwest Gaming Classic, there are tournaments for gamers of every type. Here is what has been confirmed so far.

    The Midwest Gaming Classic will be host to a number of tournaments at the show. Competition is a major part of electronic gaming and the Midwest Gaming Classic wants to find the best in the Midwest and throughout the world! The following tournaments will take place at the show:

    Midwest Pinball Championship Series
    With different divisions of play and special series for women and children, if you think you're a pinball wizard this is just what you're looking for!

    Modern Classic Series
    This series celebrates new game that are already classics! How do you stack up?

    Retro Classic Series
    Old games can be some of the best to compete on. This series of tournaments tests your skill on popular games that have held up through time!

    Hybrid Series
    Our hybrid tournaments are unique to our show! Prove your skills on a combination of pinball and video games!


    Midwest Pinball Championship Series
    No matter if you are a pinball wizard or just want to have fun competing, the Midwest Gaming Classic has a pinball tournament for you! Check out the tournaments below to see what you can compete in at the show!

    Midwest Pinball Championship
    Qualifying: Sat, 10am-8pm; Sun, 10am-1pm - Finals: Sun @ 1pm
    Come prove that you are the best pinball player in the Midwest and win a pinball machine and cash prizes! The Midwest Pinball Championship is endorsed by the International Flipper Pinball Association (IFPA) and World Pinball Player Rankings (WPPR). This year, there will be two divisions of play in the tournaments. For a full listing of prizes and rules, please see the link below.

    The following games will be used for the Midwest Pinball Championship:

    60s Game - Will not be announced
    70s Game - To be announced
    80s Game - To be announced
    90s Game - To be announced
    Unique Game - To be announced

    Cost for this tournament is $5.00 per entry. Three entries may be purchased for the price of $10.00.

    Pinball Junior Championship
    Qualifying: Sat, 10am-6pm - Finals: Sat @ 6:30pm
    If you are 12 or under and want to participate in a pinball tournament, the Midwest Gaming Classic will have just what you're looking for! Play in a pinball game to see who can get the best score to qualify! After qualifying, four finalists will compete in an elimination-style tournament just like the full tournament!

    Cost for this tournament is $2.00 per entry.

    Women's Pinball Championship
    Qualifying: Sat, 10am-6pm - Finals: Sat @ 7:15pm
    Women at the Midwest Gaming Classic will have a chance to play pinball against only other women! Qualifying will take place throughout the day on Saturday, with the top four women facing off in an elimination-style tournament to decide the winner!

    Modern Classic Series

    Guitar Hero World Tour Guitar Tournament
    Qualifying: Sat, 10am-5pm - Finals: Sat, 5:30pm
    Think you have what it takes to play everything that rocks on Guitar Hero World Tour? So do we! The Midwest Gaming Classic has teamed up with 102.9 the Hog to create a huge Guitar Hero World Tour competition to determine who rocks the most at the Midwest Gaming Classic! If you think that you have what it takes, grab your axe and start rockin'!

    Only three qualifiers from each of four songs will move to the high pressure final face-off. The final rounds will be played head-to-head against the other qualifiers to determine the winners, with the Gasman from 102.9 hosting! Do you have what it takes to become the Midwest Gaming Classic Guitar Hero?

    Cost for this tournament is $5.00 per entry. All proceeds from this tournament will be donated to the Bob & Brian Luekemia Radio-A-Thon.

    Guitar Hero World Tour Battle of the Bands
    Sun, time TBD at the Robot Panic Booth
    It's time to get the entire band together as the Midwest Gaming Classic teams up with Robot Panic and FM 102/1 to present a very unique spin on the classic battle of the band tournament...

    What happens if you take the rock music that 102/1 plays, a bunch of gamers, and then toss in the personalities from Drunken Gamers Radio? The Guitar Hero World Tour Battle of the Bands will be unlike any other tournament you've ever seen at the show, as bands will be judged not just on how well they play the music, but how they pander to the crowd and win over the judges of Robot Panic with their moves.

    This unique tournament will be limited to only seven bands, and you must be a member of the FM 102/1 club mailing list to even get a chance to sign up for it! Alternates will be selected day of only if a participating band has not arrived within 15 minutes of the start of the show.

    Cost for this tournament is $5.00 per band member, or $20 per band. All bands MUST have four members to play.

    Halo 3 Team Battle
    Qualifying: Sat, 7:00pm and Sun, 12:00pm - Finals: Sun, 2:00pm
    Finish the fight... but this time, do it against your fellow gamers! 32 teams of two will wage war against one another do determine who is truly cut out to be a Spartan. If you think that you have what it takes, grab your Xbox 360 controller and a friend and sign up!

    To stage such a massive tournament, there will be two different times for qualifying. 16 teams will face off to determine who will fill the first 8 spots for the final battle on Saturday at 7:00pm. A second 16 team qualifying round will be held on Sunday at 12:00pm to determine the final 8 spots in the tournament.

    The finals will be held starting at 2:00pm on Sunday.

    Cost for this tournament is $5.00 per person or $10.00 per team. Teams must register in advance to play in the qualifying rounds.

    Playstation 3 Face Off
    Time TBD
    The PS3 has some of the best games ever for parties, and the Midwest Gaming Classic is teaming up with the Playstation Nation Podcast to get gamers to face off against one another on the most powerful home console ever, the PS3!

    More details, including the game, prizes and other details will be announced soon.

    Cost for this tournament is TBD.

    Retro Classic Series
    Think that you are the best at some of the most popular games of the past? If so, these tournaments will be right up your alley! To find out more about this year's Retro Classic tournaments, follow these links:

    Midwest Tetris Championship
    Qualifying: Sun, 10am-3:30pm - Finals: Sun, 4pm
    Do you think that you have mastered one of the most popular games of all time? If so, square off to get the most points in "Mode 2" on the NES game. The top qualifiers will then take to the game on a projector to do a timed elimination for prizes in this unique tournament to prove that you have what it takes to eliminate those lines!

    2600 Game Challenge
    Competition: Sat, 10am-8:00pm; Sun, 10am-4:00pm
    Many gamers got their start with the classic Atari 2600, and this year we decided to take a look back and have people face off in a classic Atari 2600 game for the highest score! Think you have what it takes to rule at a real retro classic? Then you won't want to miss this tournament!

    Sonic Speed Rush
    Competition: Sat, 10am-8:00pm; Sun, 10am-4:00pm
    The Sonic games were all about the speed that you could blow through them, and this tournament is no exception! But speed isn't the only thing that you'll have to nab as you streak though the game, you'll be asked to collect 25 rings before you can turn the final billboard around! Think you have what it takes to go fast? Then challenge your fellow gamer in this Retro Classic tournament!

    Hybrid Pinball / Video Tournaments
    One of the signature attractions of the Midwest Gaming Classic, hybrid tournaments pit players against one another between two different mediums for electronic gaming! If you think your skills work across all types of electronic gaming, you'll want to prove it in these tournaments!


    Pac-Mania Hybrid Tournament
    Competition: Sat, 10am-8:00pm; Sun, 10am-4:00pm
    The Midwest Gaming Classic will again our specialty "Hybrid" Pac-Mania tournament at the show. This tournament features unique time-based competitive play on both a pinball machine and a video machine!

    Wow, I'd say you'll have plenty to do at this event, haha! I also like how it's only $2-$5 for tournament entry fees.

    It's also cool to see such a wide variety of tournament titles. To all who attend, be sure to share highlights from as many of these mini tournaments as you can and also be sure to bring everyone to join us here Very Happy
