I loved Braid quite a bit, playing with time and working with yourself makes for some interesting challenges. This new indie game, The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom, runs the same time-tinkering gamut as the previous mention.

You play as P.B. Winterbottom, notorious pie-thief. With the opening game, you find yourself with an armload of pies, and a spotlight just on your character. You get to move around a bit, lose the pies, collect what you can and learn a bit of the controls.

Chasing after a peculiar floating pie, you find yourself causing a whole lot of damage and distress to the denizens of the droll downtown. You then find yourself with some time-shifting powers, allowing you to record your actions, create a clone, or clones, to help you collect the savory treats scattered about.

You use your umbrella to float though long falls do not hurt, but fire and closing doors do. It can also be used to smack the scenery, or more often than not, yourself. Several varieties of challenges I've seen is working yourself and your clones around fire, pies that need to be gotten in order and even pies that need to be gotten by your clones. They have appetites too, you know.

Dying isn't a problem, as you re-enter through a portal in a set place, so don't be afraid to use it to get through a level.

The music is wonderful, and very much old 20's style as the video is. Some extra effects to the music make it a little more than that, but I digress. Pie-slapping schticks and silent movies strike nostalgia into your mind playing this, as the costumes of the characters do. You even see the film spots appear on your screen like watching an old film.

For those who liked Braid, this is a must get at 800 points through XBLA. Can be quite challenging, but a comical and very eccentric game worth the price of admission.

This was a great review DMF! I also enjoyed your Chronicle title Wink

In the GoG Forum I shared that I might have a purchase code for this game. Obviously you've already spent the 800 MS Points, but with this nice looking video game review, I'd like to offer you a purchase code if you'd like one.

Let me know in a PM and it's all yours. The other one is mine, so I look forward to playing this game asap too Wink
