Player Chronicle -- Posted on Feb 24 2008

I finally gave in and got myself a Sony PSP two Sundays ago. Being a Castlevania fan my first game was to be the Dracula X Chronicles. So I got it and immediately started playing while my the PSP battery charged for the first time. It was interesting the way they made the game. First off in case you don't know it's a remake of the NES Castlevania Rondo of Blood. Since Konami hasn't done well making Castlevania games in 3D I was surprised they had any in the game. The levels and art work was awesome as usual, but what they did differently is that they had everything in 3D by kept the original idea of a platformer. Similar to the remake of Super Mario Bros for the DS. I gotta say I was hooked for a good day or two. Beat the storyline and am still working on getting 100% on the main game, but I also still have to beat the original games that Konami put in with the game, Symphony of the Night, Rondo of Blood, and the mini game which I can't think of the name of right now. The only thing I disappointed in is the length of the main game. Its too short. I can see overall time wise you get allot because you also play the other games that come with it, but I guess I was expecting something more like the RPG really big castle of the other Castlevania games. But I guess I get that with Symphony of the Night. Anyway, as a wrap up, Castlevania The Dracula X Chronicles is a must for anyone who loves the Castlevania series. Overall, I give this game a 9/10. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Nice video game review here. It seems like PSP games should be EXTRA LONG, since it's a handheld and often would be played while traveling. I'm not a huge Castlevania fan, but i do enjoy those types of games once in awhile, so maybe I can pick this up someday.

I just picked up a power adapter for the car ($10), which you might want to do in case the battery doesn't last a whole trip Very Happy
