  1. Kupo_Cakes Underestimated bongos

Player Chronicle -- Posted on Jun 05 2008

Okay so we all know of games like Guitar Hero, Rock Band, and DDR... But what about the Donkey Konga series?

The Donkey Konga series is made up of 3 rhythm games for the gamecube ( Donkey Konga, Donkey Konga 2, Donkey Konga 3), in which you use Bongo's as your controller.

To play this game, you must hit the bongos with your hands, and clap above/hit the sides of the bongos, in time with the music. Symbols scroll from right to left across the screen, indicating what part of the bongos to play and when to clap.

Playing the notes sucessfully will build up the player's life bar and earn in-game coins ( 1 coin for ok, 2 coins for great) that can be used to unlock additional content, which includes more difficult songs, minigames, or the ability to replace the standard 'bongo' sounds with other noises such as a tambourine or barnyard animal noises.

There are modes of difficulty ranging from monkey, chimp, and gorillia ( easy, medium and hard) so the whole family can play depending on a persons skill level.

Up to four controllers can be attached for multiplayer games, either in competition or cooperation, and range in about the 3.99-4.99 price range.

Each game in the series has about 30-35 tracks you can choose from, and pound/clap your way through.

We personally only own the 2nd one, and are currently trying to find the other 2, but the game is bunches of fun! Very Happy

( honorable mention: Donkey Kong jungle beat. Its not a musical note type game, but its a story in which you use the bongos to control Donkey Kongs actions. Its super fun as well! Very Happy )

In conclusion, Check these games out! Smile Very Happy
