I found this game a long time ago and played it a few times, but never really put a whole lot of time into it. But i got a little time today and decided to go for the gold.
The thing that i like the most and kept me coming back is the art style and animation. Most ppl who know me know that im a sucker for art, and that it can sometimes make or break a game for me. And the cartoony, animated look cleverly contrasts the morbid subject matter of the game, which is the fact that your making pies out of orphans youre picking up on the street. Ever see Sweeny Todd? Its kinda like that.
The gameplay is pretty strandard side scrolling action. Run, jump, attack. One attack is a simple swing of what i guess is a pick axe or something. The other attack is chucking a variety of objects retrieved from your pockets, apples, skulls, ipods. I'm not even kidding. lolz
It was kind of nice to play a game without having to explore every nook and cranny in the search for unlockables. Don't get me wrong, i love easter eggs. But they can seem like work sometimes. It was nice to just take a game at face value and just play through it, not taking it too seriously.
And the whole game is only three lvls long, which i think is a good thing. Its an online flash game so it doesnt really need to be epic. Its just long enough to be involving but short enough to be completed in one sitting. Very cool.
Overall, this game is fun and funny to look at, easy to play and good for a chuckle. You can prolly beat it in a little over an hour, so you got no excuse.

Posted On May 18 2010The programming could be a little better but thats not too bad of a game lol. The animations are great though. I like the fluid-ness of his trench coat as he runs. It has a pretty good frame-rate... BUT the storyline? Making orphans into pies? lol. Thats just wrong.
