  1. A-Thon X NINTENDO Press Conference

Player Chronicle -- Posted on Jul 23 2009

This was really the High-light of my week. When i heard on X-Play that Nintendo was holding a press conference and would confirm or deny a new DS, i was thrilled. Although i did end up having to miss it after all, (Smallville was on. I had to prioritize.) I recorded it and watched it later and was pleased about several things. One of the Last things X-Play showed in their interview was A Nintendo spokes person responding to the request for more Wii games. He responded that all these other games are less then a year old and that Nintendo needs TIME to make these games. I want more Wii games too, but i agree that patience is a virtue and that these things shouldn't be rushed. Plus i'm too broke to afford more than one or two games a semester....but i guess if Nintendo didn't have such problems with third-party support they could put out more games................Anywho, I was also excited about the brand new PUNCH-OUT thats coming out. The cell-shaded, animated style looks great. I loved this game on the NES and maybe this time i'll actually get to the end. But the best thing of all? The announcment of the brand new DSI. Ooooh Baby! Thinner body. Larger Screens. Memory Card support. Music playback. Downloadable games on a flash drive. Man, this thing was Pimp-Slapping the PSP before, now the Sony handheld might be in some real trouble.(Thank God for Resistance: Retribution) But seriously, No GBA port? I guess since the DSI will support downloaded games that will keep the options going but where am i going to plug in the rumble pack for Metroid Prime? C'mon, they just came out with Guitar hero for the DS. Now i can't play it on the new system? Well, its a trade off to be sure, but i'm still extremely excited about this announcement.
