    Trailer

So now that Borderlands is out and everyone is playing it have nothing to research during downtime at work.

Until i found Torchlight, let me give you some details.

While I'm not the expert on how this game started this is what I've gathered from reading. The team thats made this game (Runic Games) includes two fo the founding people that created the orginal diablo. The company is only 20 people and they knocked this game out in about a year.

So its no big surprise that this is a diablo style dungeon crawler. There using it as a kind of marketing tool to setup and get people interested in the IP in preperation for there MMO they plan to release in 18+ months.

Its apparently really really good and a great value. Tourchlight has just one town in it and one dungeon as your progress through the story you go deeper and deeper into the dungeon with one of the 3 classes.

I'm not going to go much deeper into the gameplay if you want more look here.

The main reason for this chronicle was to not bring attention to the game but to the dev tools that are coming out for it hopefully soon. They are suppose to be uber powerfull and not only can you make your own quests/dungeons but you can also make your own talents and classes along with your own models to go with them. The site (listed above) is also going to have sort of forum system where you can create a mod and host it on there site for others to comment on and play. You can also link a pay pal account and people can donate to you (the company's idea so no copyright issues as of yet).

So while the Game itself looks amazing and can be played forever (no level cap AND once you beat the game you unlock the never ending dungeon). The real power might be in these editing tools where if you spent enough time you could not only create your own game but get paid for it to!

Here is some video action of the dev tools.

The demo and game are both available on Steam right now.
