    Holy shiz! That was insane!

How long has it been? Four months or so?

    Sorry about dissapearing like that.

Geez. First I started getting detatched, then the internet kept getting cut off, and now it took me forever to remember all of my freaking passwords.

I kinda dropped off the face of the internet for a while there, but I'm back.

A crap-ton of stuff has happened since I slid off the web, so here goes nothing:

    LOK related...

You can skip the rest of this if you like. It's just me fantarding over all the recent news about the legion.

While away from the internet, I further immersed myself into Legacy of Kain. When I finally got back, I was overjoyed to find that the scattered fans were finally coming together to rally for a new game.

Among the information dug up in our search for answers, were the remains of an abandoned sequal, The Dark Prophecy. Not only did this enrage the entire community, but most of us lost hope: http://nosgoth.yuku.com/topic/5561

Some of us are still holding on though, and there's been some recent breakthroughs that have gotten me all teary-eyed and patriotic.

The most influencial figure at the moment, is Jake Pawloski, who is the one man army behind a fully 3D fangame, 'Legacy of Kain: Prodigal Sons', which follows the story of Kain and his lieutenants during his rise to power, in the events between Blood Omen 2 and the first Soul Reaver. I'll say it right here and now: The beta was absolute crap. Compared to the official games, it's just another smudge beneath Kain's boot. But for a fangame, it's fecking amazing, and my inner fantard is frothing from the thought.

So far, the game is just about finished, and in the final stages of tweaking.

^ The trailer is up on youtube, and after seeing it, I was in a constant state of excitement for a full ten minutes afterwards. I can't freaking wait.

Trailing behind Jake, is David McComb, who's given himself the task of continuing the story from LOK Defiance, using the scraps left over from the cancelled sequal, Dark Prophecy. I was actually on his team once, but my unstable internet and serious procrastination prevented me from getting anything done. I DO however, have possesion of some concepts and the script outline. It's one of those 'far-fetched' sorta things. It'll probably have that 'odd one out' feeling that was shown in Blood Omen 2, in relation to the rest of the series.

Some people who have seen his progress are protesting against it, mostly because the story goes WAY off, in increasingly unsettling directions. The main problem that I've found, is either flat diolouge, or situations that are extremely out of character.

David is only the main writer and director, and Jake has agreed to put everything together once the materials have been collected. If you'll look on Jake's youtube (the same one with the Prodigal Sons trailer) You'll see an announcement of David's game.

While I was still working with him, he handed me a link to a potential voice actor. He nailed Kain and Raziel, and he would need very little alteration to perfectly emulate Tony Jay (the Elder God, rest his soul). I'm hoping that Jake had used him in Prodigal Sons, because the beta had contianed his own voice work (it was actually pretty good, just not great. Kind of painful actually. I couldn't stop laughing. Especially when you could tell he just used a pitch change for different characters).

Other then those two, the regular upholders of Kain's legion are working hard to uncover all that Nosgoth has to offer. Rainia Audron, who's known mostly for pulling apart Soul Reaver in it's entirety, has finally ripped and released a full Soul Reaver OST, complete with all the variations for combat, suspense, spectral, boss battles, all that good stuff.

Viperic Vampire/Vampiric Viper has made a directory listing all of the major fanprojects going on, and is further helping our goal of uniting all of the fans.

Ben Lincoln (owner of thelostworlds.net, an endless source for deleted LOK material), who's usually 'up there' in terms of information gathering, has been silent for quite a while, only to return with the news that the original Blood Omen is now available for download on the PlayStation Network. Good news for me, because I've been trying to hunt down a working copy for ages now. He also recieved some files from Daniel Cabuco (main art director for most of the series), and the textures from some deleted areas in Soul Reaver have finally been revealed.

And now, let's take a moment to remember all those lost.

Amy Hennig, director and writer for Soul Reaver, Soul Reaver 2, and Defiance, has left Crystal Dynamics for Naughty Dog, and is now grinding out the Uncharted series (I have yet to play it, but it actually looks good.)

The three people who were meant to replace her have either left, or actually died.

The voice of our Elder God has fallen forever silent. God Bless Tony Jay.

And that's about it for all that fan babble...

    *whew!*

For the sake of the people reading this, I'll continue in another post, because I have several pieces of a review, and a bunch of other stuff to share.
