  1. E3 2009 Mass Effect 2

Player Chronicle -- Posted on Jun 07 2009

Make sure you’ve got the HD tuned in for this one, because as the first game we experienced at E3 2009, this beautiful looking and ultra intelligent sequel took us by surprise right from the start!

Mass Effect 2 was not something I came to see per say and not have playing much of the first, I was somewhat unfamiliar with the title, but the graphics, enhanced controller scheme, awesome world environment, and a saved game retrieval that I had not seen before...really impressed me and the GoG team.

This 3rd Person RPG/Shooter is coming January 2010, and the Lead Marketing Manager Jerrett, shared this game with RyuBlitz, BasketBabe, and I in a private showing within the EA meeting area of the show. One of the most unique elements of Mass Effect 2, is that the sequel is played based on the previously saved data of how you chose your way through the original Mass Effect! As an example, if you killed off a character in the first game, that character will not be in your story for this title. Imagine the amount of possible ways this game could be played?! For a decision-based game like this, I thought this was epic and something I had not seen before…although I hear there are a few other games that do this.

This game was definitely a great way to start off our E3 experience. Jerrett also shared news of an upcoming iPhone game within the series, which actually drops June 22, 2009. He also slipped and let us know that Mass Effect 3 (and maybe more) are in the blueprints!

After RyuBlitz ran the controls and Jerrett had highlighted the E3 demo, we stayed in the EA lounge and moved over to check out The Saboteur with Lead Designer Tom French, which BasketBabe is excited to share thoughts on…so I’ll let her take it from here…

Nice way to start off! I can't wait for Mass Effect 2 (although I'm disappointed that it wasn't called Mass Effect 2: The Mass Affect)!
