  1. Zuggy 3v3 Update

Player Chronicle -- Posted on Oct 16 2007

So then, as we approach the end of season 2, or at least reasonably close end, I thought tonight was as good a night as any to reflect on the many 3v3 teams I’ve had this ladder session. We began the season as we ended the previous, holy priest, demo warlock, and combat rogue. It was an excellent combo with great players, and I’m sure we could have gone all the way to the top with it. Though the susceptibility of the double healer / warrior teams was simply too much frustration to bear.

About a month or so into the season we added a mage to the roster, Allupons. We mixed it up a bit with double caster lineups as well as rogue / mage, though we never could really get comfortable. Long story short, my priest, Foxem, finally specs shadow, we pickup the druid from my 5v5 team and add a UA warlock. The result? Great success, 2300+.

The primary combo I play on the team is warlock / rogue / druid, it’s simply amazing. Each class offers great crowd control, with proper communication and teamwork we’ve been able to work together to hold down a top 10 spot on Reckoning. The greatest point in playing a matrix like this is it virtually eliminates our team from simply getting wrecked via double healer / warrior teams.

Rogue / warlock / druid vs. double healer / warrior, I attack and lock down the warrior as much as possible, my druid cyclone spams to interrupts heals while the warlock controls healers via curses and fears, all the while throwing steady damage to aid my own. Though the rogue team works fine, the shadow priest / warlock / druid works even better. Even after the nerf to DoTs in patch 2.2, the synergy of shadow priest / UA warlock is just too much to handle.

As the end of the season approaches our four-man squad looks to make a serious push at the top spot. I believe we have all the right classes and players in place now, it’s simply a matter of making that final push. Even as this season ends I’m already looking ahead to the next. New honor gear, new arena gear, new trinkets, and a whole world of possibilities opening up via the new expertise rating and armor penetration.
