Tuesday Bowling

So if you're a bowler you can imagine where I'm coming from. I bowl on a league on Tuesday night. It's sanctioned, which means that as opposed to the leagues that are not sanctioned, the USBC (United States Bowling Congress) has some rules that govern it, and bowlers bowling in leagues can win awards and such for bowling certain scores and things. Well, as of last tuesday there were only two weeks remaining in our league. We were in first ahead by 15 points. There are only 8 points available each night. So basically win 2 points and we can't be touched. So the first game we win, each game is worth 2 points, so we are officially first place, cannot lose. However the second game, I begin to bowl really well. I start off with a few strikes. So its the fifth frame, I continue to throw strikes. Next thing you know its the 7th frame, I'm still throwing strikes. But the 9th frame comes, and when I throw my ball, this is the problem I began to face in the 7th frame, I didn't release it out far enough near my mark, and so it came in way too high on the headpin leaving the 9 pin. THE 9 pin? who does that? so to make a long story some what shorter, I get all strikes in the 10th. So 11 strikes, and I leave the 9th frame open.....so I'm one away from a perfect game. Sure we clench first place in the league, but its somewhat bittersweet in the end...
