    so.. way back when
It was late 80's (89 to be precise) and my best friend had gotten the game Bloodwych for his Amiga, which at that time was revolutionary, since it was "almost" like Dungeon Master, but with multiplay (split-screen); it was THE rpg for us

The main problem was that we didn't really know any other computer-geeks and the internet was virtually non-existent, thus we had no idea of how to format a disk and no way to make a "save-disk" for the Amiga

We would always reach the same place; The Serpent Tower
and from there, we had no idea how to go forth
Until one day.... (back in 1992) when we FINALLY got pass The Serpent Tower (after about 18 hours playing without saving), when my mother calls and tells me to get home for dinner

So I jump on my BMX (which had no brakes) and me and my friend make our way to my place

About 3-4 minutes from home, we are at a road-intersection... and me being young (and stupid) ride my bike straigth-forward, so that I can get my dinner and head back to my friend's place and get on with the gaming...and then I get run over by a car

I fly over the car and land on my back... then it's all black-out

I remember waking up a couple of minutes later, with the ambulance people trying to tell me something and then my friend shows up and he says:

Does this mean I have to shut down the computer?

I don't know if it was the pain of being run over and not sure if I would live or die, or just the fact that we had to do it all over again, but I said:

    Yeah... sorry

5 years later, I got a hold of the "Expansion disk" for Bloodwych and lo and behold.. there was the solution for the Serpent Tower... so about a half year later we finally made it through the game...

all in all it took us nearly 8 years getting through that game...

    was it worth it?

play it and find out Ninja

Terrific story. Our childhoods were quite similar, but I never had the misfortune of being run over by a car! I took a few headers on my BMX bike and had some mishaps with a 250cc motorcycle.

I'm just a little older than you, but '89 would have been the year my brother graduated high school, so I'm sure his bio reads pretty close to this too.

8 years?! That's dedication to the game. That alone tells me the payoff was worth it.
