  1. LSP Madden 13 Review

Player Chronicle -- Posted on Oct 01 2012

The NFL has evolved in immense ways since it started in 1920, and the Madden video game series is no different. Madden NFL 13 hit stores nationwide Tuesday, August 28 with big expectations.
Many new features including Connected Careers and the all-new Infinity Engine, which makes the physics more life-like and similar to the NFL than ever, were both highly anticipated by beginners and experienced players. As if these two new features weren?t enough, the producers also decided to add a new announcing team of Phil Sims and Jim Nantz, which makes the game look like a real broadcast on CBS. Every new element of this game from the new introduction to even more realistic game play than last year, makes this year?s Madden the best in the series so far.
The brand new feature, Connected Careers is in my opinion Madden 13?s best new feature. In Connected Careers, not only can you take the place of a coach and build an entirely new team, you can also become a player. You have the choice of making your own player, or even playing as NFL greats such as Joe Montana or Walter Payton. You can choose your path to stardom whether it is the first pick in the draft or an undrafted rookie who has to earn his spot on the team.
Even though the newest installment of the Madden series is the closest to the NFL than any other game, there are still some problems. I think that even with the Infinity Engine, the game is still much closer to a video game than real life. Of course, it is hard to produce a game that is exactly like real life, but I hope that next year the game becomes more like the NFL, which actually isn?t always perfect. In Madden, you can pass on every play and drive all the way down the field, but in the NFL, this would never be possible.
Overall though, I would give this game a nearly perfect review. It is pure fun to play with friends (up to six of them) or occupy yourself with a quick game on your own. I would recommend this game to anyone, whether they know how to play football, or just want to try a new video game.
