  1. BEN An Obsessed Day of Gaming

Player Chronicle -- Posted on Apr 20 2008

It's these type of days that convince me I'm obsessed with video games. It began as a simple Saturday with few plans but to relax and enjoy the weekend...

I started the day by heading up to a 4v4 Call of Duty 4 tournament. It had a very nice level of participation and as much as I would have liked to be on a team and compete, I was content talking with gamers(welcome to the new members that have joined us from the event), watching some great games, and catching up with a bunch of GoG members. Without being in the event, we did not stay for the entire double elimination event, so I went home.

After I got home and with watching video games for around 3-4 hours, I had to jump online and play some CoD4 for myself. After I had my fill of that and with the recent rental from GYG, Hitman: Blood Money, waiting to be broken open, I had to get started looking at this new game in a series I liked on the original Xbox. We recently had watched the movie Hitman, so it was fun checking out this stealth/sniper third person shooter.

After a couple hours of getting my own gaming fix under control, I went over to a friend's bbq and while I was there, we worked up a small logo design on my laptop and we were also on the GoG watching Nerf War I & II in my video gallery, haha.

Later, we ended up going over to Mindrite's bass player's house to chill. (Tonight is their big concert by the way and I'm rocking to Razing The Sun right now!) Long story short, video games seem to follow me. We ended up trying his two new games for the PS2. It had been awhile since I rocked that console, but after we quickly got sick of Sonic Heroes, we jumped into Black.

I had not seen Black yet and with the FPS's front cover being littered with bullet shells, I knew it would be decent and had wanted to try it out. Anyways, for being a PS2 game, I thought it was pretty good. It took too long to kill the enemies, the only maps we saw in the entire time we played was an outdoor forest environment, and I could have seen the game going huge if there was an online multiplayer element, but other than those minor details we had a great time watching different people giving it a try. It's always fun when a group of people get into watching a single player game Very Happy

So finally, I got back home for the night and as late it is was and as burnt out as my eyes were, I just had to get back online and finish the day with some CoD4!

Anyways, it's Sunday morning and although I should maybe be at church, I've got to get some design work done as I'm really trying to coordinate these "GoG Tools" asap. Before I get to work, I wanted to look back at this day/night full of gaming, document it for myself, and share it with you!

It's amazing how stuff like that happens. I too, ended up playing tons of games on saturday. I started with the Gears of War campaign, since I FINALLY managed to get a used copy at a reasonable price. I think I played that for 4-5 hours, then was getting ready to go out and find something to do, when out of nowhere I get a phone call from a friend I haven't heard from in a couple of months. It was his 22nd birthday, and he was having a get-together at his place. I brought my plastic guitar and ended up playing GH3 for about another 4-5 hours (I was also forced to play Through the Fire and Flames in front of like 15 people. I managed to pass it with a 4* and they went nuts. It was awesome.)

Anywho, it sounds like you had a great weekend, and I can't wait to see some of these GoG tools in action!
