  1. BEN Post-TIPGC Update

Player Chronicle -- Posted on May 08 2011

So I've been a little distant around here the past few weeks, but after #TIPGC rocked the gaming world almost a month ago, we've been working to close up all the loose ends and get things back to normal.

Since The Iowa Pro Gaming Challenge went down March 19th, I've been busy trying to prepare the Sponsorship Report. This will go out to all our valued sponsors and encourage an increased commitment for next year. I'll be honest around here, TIPGC was a huge undertaking that I committed a ton of time for. Even with the tournament going big this year, our company barely broke even financially. I'm all about building something awesome with this and bringing everyone together, but I can't continue to do that amount of work and not be compensated for it, ya know? Our goal this year was to really showcase an event that sponsors would see as valuable and in turn, invest their dollars to connect with our unique (and sometimes tricky) demographic. More on this later, but that's where things are at with TIPGC right now. www.TIPGC.com is always available for highlights and more information.

I suppose another tidbit of TIPGC information, is that we're about to make the official shirts available online! Thanks to Kiaeneto for taking care of all the orders, payments, and shipping...but those should be in the GoG Shop, hopefully next week Very Happy

Outside of TIPGC 2011, I was up in Minneapolis two weekends ago. I had a web development meeting on the 48th floor downtown, attended an amazing DJ Tiesto show (www.youtube.com/watch?v=IjhM7F6ijag), and then bumped up to ComboBreaker to commentate at that video game event. Not sure if any of you saw that live stream on JTV, but we took the TIPGC viewer count (134,000+) on the Focus Fire channel , all the way up to 835,000!!!

These big time viewer numbers mean something and I believe we're onto something for sure, so we're all trying to figure out the missing link in this equation to allow us to get paid for the intensely hard work we do for each event like TIPGC and ComboBreaker. Interested in investing thousands to make this equation easier? haha

With this post-TIPGC work, as well as, my web development career...I've also been a bit distant from gaming myself, so I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things...especially with GoW3 Beta dropping!

Anyways, the next step for me this weekend is to showcase a small selection of TIPGC photos on Facebook and around here to allow for some tagging fun. I also hope to finish that darn Sponsorship Report and be able to start distributing to our supporting brands all around the country. Look for those TIPGC/GoG/Kiaeneto shirts to go online soon and when they do...BUY Wink

I hope everyone is enjoying Spring. Cheers!
