Player Chronicle -- Posted on Jan 17 2009

Sorry I've been so scarce this week, but I'm in Houston for work and haven't had much time to check in on the GoG. I wanted to tell you fellow gamers about my wonderful experience here at the LaQuinta hotel. I'm so annoyed by this, I can't even explain....

"You have to use the N64 access in your room". That's what I was told by the maintenance guy when I asked him how to switch my TV over to the aux input to hook up my PS2. "I've been forbidden to allow gaming systems to be connected in the rooms", he claims! I guess they actually think people will rent the N64 games by refusing to allow consoles to be hooked up.

Is this the biggest bunch of crap or what? I'm paying to stay in this hotel for 11 nights and I'm "not permitted" to use my PS2?! The TV has the input, but you need a special remote to switch to it (or so I hear). I've got seven more nights here.... I'm not done yet!

I think that's dumb. It's not like it's going to be killing their profits if you hook up your own game console instead of playing their N64 games. That's why I have my own personal 20" TV I like to take on extended road trips. Wink

Been there, done that, haha. We were in Detroit and had to stay at a hotel because our flight was delayed. Luckily we had an extra Xbox 360, but then we ran into the same issue.

We had the maintenance guy stop by our room and after a heart to heart, we convinced him that all we needed to get this party started, was a wrench to fix the co-axle connection going into the wall.

Although he was hesitant, we got the 360 fired up and working this night. We've ran into the situation a few other times at hotels and it's such a drag if they make it complicated, but usually you can make it happen if you're committed to some good gaming, lol...GOOD LUCK!

I was, rather considering just moving into the lobby and hooking it up to their nice big LCD TV!

You should make a big scene when there are lots of people around and threaten to go to another hotel. Smile
