It's from a series called Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya), an anime series that aired a year or so ago in Japan and is now available in the states on DVD. It's an excellent series but it's a little strange if you've only watched series like Naruto or Samurai Champloo. Haruhi, like series like Serial Experiments Lain, is rife with Japanese Existentialism. But it's good and has lots of physical comedy at times which, hopefully, has not been edited out of the American releases.
